Iris Thread Play Learn how to embellish a photo-transferred original watercolor iris (provided by Wendy) with thread and crayon to enhance and add depth. These techniques can be applied to traditional appliqué projects. Students will also learn Wendy’s unique method for putting on a mock piped oval to frame this or any piece of appliqué. The completed project can be made into a pillow or a wall hanging. Students should have some experience with free motion quilting. Quilt Labels Labels are important for the documentation of old and new quilts. In this three-hour workshop, students will learn various techniques to create labels for quilts. Students will leave this workshop with three completed labels and ideas for many more. Come and learn about inking, painting and stenciling labels. Suitable for beginning to advanced students. No sewing machine required. Stained Glass with Crayons! If you have tried to do stained glass with bias tape, paper piecing or hand appliqué, you will love the ease and simplicity of this technique. Leading is cut of out black fabric, fused to a piece of fabric and then artistically colored in with crayon. Make a stained glass quilt from just two fabrics! No need to sorry that the leading isn’t covering the individual stained glass pieces. Students will have three designs to pick from, an Iris, a dove or an angel. No Sewing machine required. Sewing will be done at home. Suitable for beginning to advanced students. |
